Canvasback
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with more than 6%
wetlands and wet shrubland, or in flat terrain with less wetlands and
wet shrubland but with a relatively large area of public land. Occurred
in hexagons with little or no wetlands and wet shrubland if either (a)
May precipitation (hex. med.) is 14-34 mm and more than 5%
lakes/reservoirs, or (b) any amount of another freshwater habitat is
present. The logistic regression analysis showed positive or negative
association with lakes/reservoirs, wetlands and wet shrubland, number
of land cover types, and-to a lesser degree-Douglas-fir - w. hemlock
- red cedar forest, elevation (hex. avg.), the extent of public land, and
July precipitation (hex. med.).
